How to Solve the Abrasion of FDM 3D Printing Consumables
    03.08.2021 | creality3dpro | News

At present, most FDM 3D printers use a pinion to hold the consumables with another bearing to hold the consumables. The driving gear can rely on the rotation direction of the gear to push the consumables forward and backward. If the consumables can not be moved, but the gear is still rotating, the gear may run away from the consumables, so that there is no place for the gear to grasp the consumables. This is what we often call "throwing". Then, how should we solve the problem of planing?

How to Solve the Abrasion of FDM 3D Printing Consumables-01

    1. Increase printing temperature

    Solution: increase the printing temperature

Note: try to increase the temperature of the nozzle by 5 to 10 degrees, which makes it easier to extrude consumables. Modify the printing temperature to set. There is a printing temperature in the basic part. When slicing, it can be set again. When the temperature is high, the consumables are always easier to extrude, so this is a very useful setting that can be adjusted.

    2. Printing speed is too fast

Solutions: 1. Adjust the printing speed in the slicing software; 2. Adjust the printing speed by turning the button anticlockwise.

Note: after increasing the temperature, if you still encounter planing problems, the next thing you need to do is to reduce the printing speed. By doing so, the extruder motor does not have to rotate at that high speed because the wire takes longer to extrude. Reducing the motor speed of the extruder helps to avoid planing problems. For example, if you used to print at 3600 mm / min (60 mm / s), try reducing this value by one-third to see if the planing problem disappears.

    3. Check whether the nozzle is blocked

Solution: check whether the nozzle is blocked

Note: if the above two methods still can not solve the problem, then the nozzle may be blocked. First of all, if the blockage is not serious, the consumables will come out intermittently. Then you can raise the printing temperature to 230 ℃, and then use a small needle to pass the nozzle several times, and then manually feed the material inside to see whether the material can be discharged normally. If it is normal, it is OK. If it is not OK after passing through, you can replace a new nozzle, and then clean the inside of the throat and check the material guide If the tube is normal, it is necessary to replace it with a new one.

    4. Carbonization of Teflon tube in throat

Solution: check whether the Teflon tube is blocked

Note: there is a small section of Teflon tube in the throat of the machine. The Teflon tube is resistant to high temperature, but the Teflon tube will be carbonized gradually when working in high temperature environment for a long time, resulting in the narrowing of the originally small Teflon tube channel, and then causing the subsequent extrusion is not smooth, resulting in insufficient discharge and material jam. If this problem occurs, it can be solved with a new Teflon tube.
