3D printing is one of the most popular and vital technologies in the field of rapid prototyping. 3D printing technology shortens the R & D cycle and reduces the cost of R & D. In practical application, many people require the accuracy of the model, so how to improve the accuracy of 3D printing model in the process of 3D printing? Pay attention to the following points, you can also print high-precision models.
1. The accuracy of 3D printing machine itself
When purchasing a 3D printer, we must first understand the printing accuracy of the machine. The manufacturing and assembly accuracy of the 3D printing machine and the vibration during operation will affect the 3D printing accuracy. The accuracy of 3D printer depends on whether the walking part of the mechanical part is accurate and reasonable.
2. Delamination thickness
The layer thickness here is also the layer thickness / layer height when slicing. Because each layer has a certain thickness, obvious step pattern will appear on the solid surface after forming (the higher the layer thickness, the more obvious), which will directly affect the dimensional error and surface roughness of the formed solid. For FDM process, this is a kind of principle error. It is impossible to eliminate the step completely. The step effect can be reduced by setting a small layer thickness.
3. Nozzle temperature
The nozzle temperature determines the bonding properties, stacking properties, wire flow and extrusion line width. Therefore, the nozzle temperature should not be too low or too high. If it is too low, the viscosity of the material increases and the extrusion speed is slow; if it is too high, the material tends to be liquid, the viscosity coefficient is reduced, and the fluidity is enhanced. If the extrusion speed is too fast, the filament can not be accurately controlled. Therefore, when the nozzle temperature is set, it should be selected in a certain range according to the characteristics of the selected wire to ensure that the extruded wire is in the state of molten flow.
4. Type of consumables
3D printers use different types of materials or the same material quality is different, the final model gloss is also very different, users only use the most appropriate material to make your 3D printer to print the most perfect model.
5. Nozzle diameter
The diameter of the nozzle also determines the width of the extruded wire, which affects the accuracy of the finished product. We all know that 3D printing is to construct objects by layer stacking. Therefore, the layer thickness setting also affects the roughness of the finished product: if the large diameter nozzle is used, the thickness of the layer will be thicker. Although the 3D printing speed is faster, the finished product will be relatively rough; on the contrary, with the use of small diameter nozzle, the 3D printing process time is increased, but the finished product is more refined. Generally, the diameter of nozzle is only 0.2mm, 0.3mm or 0.4mm. The reason why it can not be smaller is due to the flow property of non Newtonian fluid of consumables. Too small diameter will lead to excessive flow resistance.
