    WTEC 3D printers in Italy have become synonymous with community life. They recently announced a new housing model cooperation to build ecological residential communities in a sustainable way, using reusable materials from local terrain.


    Wasp and Mario Cucinella Architects (MC a) are leading experts in the field of 3D printers in Italy. They cooperated to install a 3D printing habitat in Bologna.

    Inspired by the problem of overpopulation, the round house model with 3D printing aims to provide affordable houses for all people. Tecla is made of fully recyclable materials used in the local terrain, and its shape imitates the development of global ecological housing.

    Wasp took inspiration from the potter wasp. We use the land we found on the spot to build 3D printing houses from a sustainable perspective. The combination of the oldest materials and the most advanced technology brings new hope to the world. This is our first 3D printing house made of raw soil a year ago. Today, we work with our partners to print the entire eco sustainable habitat on Tecla. The planet is asking us to share a joint project with Mario Cucinella.

    Tecla should be a building with a long history. It is the first area of a house developed together with many 3D printers. It uses biodegradable and recyclable local clay to realize zero waste building. Tecla is designed to adapt to a variety of environments and will be customized by selecting the environment and self production.


    "Tecla is developed through in-depth research and development by the Institute of sustainable development, a professional school founded by Mario Cucinella that integrates education, research and practice. The study, supported by a master's degree in sustainable environmental design at the Institute of architecture, London, explored the causes and effects of homelessness. Based on case studies in different climatic conditions, it asked about the use of technological advances to achieve solutions. "The result is a highly flexible envelope designed to adapt to any climate and energy efficiency in a way that no traditional housing model can resist," the team said.

    Their collaboration with MCA is supported, which means they can learn materials and main ingredients, many of which are so optimized that they have to come from the original earth. Ricehouse has created structural tests, and research teams often need to help with customer parts. Tecla or virtual city represents the city's agreement to respect the environment.

    The construction of 3D printing ecological housing habitat is planned to be approved in May 2019, will be built near Bologna, Italy, and will start in September, and is expected to be completed in early 2020.


    "The collaboration between wasp and MCA is supported by global building materials producers who have studied clay materials and identified key ingredients in the raw soil mix to create a highly optimized printable product," the researchers said.

    The application of 3D printing technology in construction is very large. Nowadays, the population growth is increasing explosively. These ecological residential communities built by wasp can provide solutions for these people's housing needs.
